About me...

I’m a 23 year old graphic designer with a sweet spot for technology, summer time, sick design and awesome music.

I grew up in the North West of England, on a little peninsula known as Wirral, pretty much knowing from young age that I wanted to be part of the creative industry.

Originally wanting to be a games designer, I gradually had a change in heart as the Internet boomed and web based technologies began to thrive. However, to cover my bases, incase I ever had another change in heart, I decided to study Computer Science at the University of Manchester (excessive partying helped me get through it).

I graduated last year with a 2:1 honours degree and now engaging in a spot of freelance work, while I persue full time employment in the industry.

“Every so often, I'll build a website of rather ambitious proportions in order to learn new skills. This, is one of those websites.”

By ambitious proportions, I mean I'll throw myself in the deep end concerning areas I'd like to learn more about and then accentuate them in the design. Each iteration of my online identity is normally used solely for this purpose, and so concentrates on certain topics or areas.

This iteration was quite a major one, and when I say quite, I mean quite to the point of brain overload! Topics included: interesting Web layouts, design theory, jQuery, Wordpress, HTML5 and Typography.

I intend to improve and polish these areas over time. So you will notice the odd change as this version of my experimental playground matures and blossoms :-) .

There’s a Japanese philosophy called Kaizen, which focuses on continuous improvement through small, gradual steps. I’d like to think of this site as not only the home to demonstrate my skills and portfolio, but the home to my state-of-the-art creative Zen, a place with no boundries, and a place where Kaizen is my mantra.
